Work - Migrations II

The concept of this series explores the expression of Mexica/Aztec culture. Inspired by the Borbonic Codex and the Pilgrimage Strip, which narrates the migration over time to the promised land, this work brings to life the characters of the 20 days of the shamanic calendar. They walk, migrate, and traverse through Their World, revealing that today we are interwoven fragments: of one race with another, of the past with the present and the future, of the fantastic with the starkly real.

This series honors the current migrations to the North of the American continent, forced displacements, new colonizations, and the inevitable changes and constant evolution. It is a visual testimony of how human movements, whether by choice or necessity, forge identity and culture in an eternal cycle of transformation.
