Pedro Gasca

I have dedicated my entire life to walking, moving, migrating; based on wanting to grow as a human being, to show myself, after the years, that it is in the end a return to innocence, to the innate desire to return home, to that 6-year-old child who only thought about having fun and dreaming.

For 10 years, I began to fill notebooks with thoughts, poems and drawings and to make small works that I gave to my friends with drawings of trees, plants, human beings and others, but it was not until 2023 that I began to paint with acrylic, make sculpture, printmaking and ceramics.

At this moment I dedicate myself to the two great passions I have in life, the business world and art.

​

On the business side of life, I have created new businesses and some have also failed, I support companies and entrepreneurs to scale their businesses and strengthen them.

​

On the art side, for the series I am making, I dedicate myself to creating, innovating, reading books on anthropology, sociology, history and archeology, to understand Mesoamerican pre-Hispanic history more every day. This gives me the basis to be able to paint from there, from the knowledge of rescuing those unique symbols and codices, which reveal all their splendor to the world.

It was the moment I arrived in Mexico and found myself with the certainty of loneliness, where I took refuge in art, in the immense desire to feel free, attached to myself; as if nothing else existed.

I am self-taught and not at all knowledgeable in the world of art. I am more driven by my passion of wanting to express what I feel and my relationship with the world, than wanting to make his work perfect.

I am currently taking printmaking courses with teacher Will Mendez, ceramic painting and painting on canvas.
